**In the Edo period, the gods charged Momotaro with eradicating demons that preyed on humanity, feeding on their life force through parasitic “bugs.” Together with his loyal retainers—Kensuke, Saruhiko, and Yukijiro—he fought bravely, until a powerful demon nearly wiped them out. On the brink of death, a god declared: “Momotaro, you must slay that demon. Power will gather within a peach, and from it you shall be reborn. Choose a vassal, and I will grant them immortality to protect you during your slumber.” Centuries pass.
